(This poem was presented by Paa.Jeyapirakasam at 4th Festival of Literature conducted by Manipur State Kala Akademi at Imphal, Manipur on June 6 & 7, 2015)
With wide-opened mouths
The cracks lie waiting in the parched land
To devour man
lock, stock and barrel.
Heat unbearable
underground;
and above the head.
The all exclusive well of ‘I’.
The pump-set lets out water
gushing forth;
Beside the water tank
as a goody little baby-peacock
would lie asleep,
remaining without moisture
My poems.
- Suriyadeepan[The wind that blows on everybody in a society impacts the writer too; it creates tremors in its surroundings as well as inside the person concerned. Yet, the pretense that no such tremor has been sown in his own courtyard; For those who choose to safeguard their life and their literary world as two separate entities.]
